Reading Journey app for iPhone and iPad

Our app, which is free for schools, allows children to discover exciting new books from a specially curated collection designed to appeal to a wide range of interests.

Through the app, children visit the world of The Reading Journey to discover, amongst others, thrilling adventures in the Pagoda of Peril, mind blowing nonfiction in the Curiosity Caves, and powerful poetry in the Volcano of Verses.

Once logged in by the teacher, the children can browse the collections and read previews. They can select books they would like to read and capture them for their personalised bookshelf, which provides and at a glance reading history. Children can add book jackets of their independent choices using the iPad camera.

The challenges and rewards for books read are all moderated by the childs school teacher. A built-in multi-modal reading journal allows children to record their responses to the books using their preferred medium, audio, pictorial or written.

The teacher-pupil messaging allows teachers to set reading challenges, and make book recommendations, based on the childs reading interests. Positive reading behaviour, such as adventurous reading or voracious reading can be rewarded by the teacher with a set of stickers.

The Author of the Month feature is designed to generate interest in new books.
